T- Turbocharger / T- VTR 4 Series Turbine Blades For Marine Propulsion Engines And Stationary Power Plants

T- / T- VTR series exhaust gas turbocharger description:

T- VTR 4 series turbine blades is belonging to the parts for T- / T- VTR series exhaust gas turbocharger. The T- / T- VTR series marine turbocharger is created for two-stroke, low-speed and four-stroke, medium-speed heavy-duty diesel engines. The engine power output is from 700 kW to 18,500 kW per turbocharger. T-VTR series turbocharger has been widely applied to marine propulsion engines (esp. at part load), stationary power plants and units burning heavy oil and in continuous operation. The advantages are as following:

    • Optimum engine perforce in part-load operation
    • the optimum match with all types and designs of engines due to the modular concept adoption
    • Connectors on the compressor side allow water cleaning during operation
    • External bearing
    • Integrated lubrication system
    • The rotor shaft can be removed without distling the gas ifolds, or pulling of the compressor wheels
    • Low friction losses of the external antifriction bearings
    • The T- VTR 4 series is capable of high pressure-charging, the pressure ratio from 3.7 even to 4.2.

    Turbine blades description:

Turbine blades are an important component of the turbine section of a diesel or gas powered engine. The blades that rotate at high speed are responsible for drawing high temperature and high pressure air into the combustor so that to maintain the engine's operation.

    Brief introduction of marine turbocharger:

Marine turbocharger / Exhaust gas turbochargers operate at high speeds, high exhaust gas temperatures, high air and exhaust gas flow rates, and high flow rates. Generally, the pressure of the exhaust gas is 0.25-0.45 MPa, and the exhaust gas temperature is 500-600 °C. The speed varies with the size of the Marine turbocharger / supercharger. The maximum speed of the large-sized supercharger is 10000 r/min, and the maximum speed of the small-sized supercharger can reach 40,000~50000r/min. Therefore, the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is a precision machine.

When the diesel-exhaust turbocharger combination is in operation, the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is prone to failures such as turbine casing corrosion, bearing damage, blade damage, gas seal damage, and supercharger vibration. The daily good maintenance agement can reduce these failures.
